How High Does My GPA Need To Be To Qualify For Good Student Discounts?

There are many insurance companies out there that will offer discounts to students that make good grades. This can really be a great way to save money, considering teen auto insurance policies are usually a lot higher than your average adult policy. It has a lot to do with the fact that students do not have as much experience with driving and are much more likely to get into an accident. This means that students should keep their grades up so that they can save their parents some money each month.

The question that parents and students have is how high does the gpa actually need to be in order for them to get the good student discount. This will vary from one insurance company to another. You should really start by asking around to the various different companies; however, it is usually somewhere around a 3.0 and above. This means that the student would need to average A’s and B’s in order to get the discount on their auto insurance.

If your gpa is almost a 3.0, then you may be able to talk to the insurance company and see what they have to offer you. The key is to ensure that your students make the best grades that they possibly can. Most insurance companies will offer this discount, but they will also require that the students turn in a copy of their report cards or academic reports on an annual basis. This will allow the company to see if the student still qualifies for the discount. That being said, just because the grades are good when you get the policy does not mean that the discount can be removed if the grades drop later.
